BIOENGINEERING A BODY OF WARFIGHTER APPLICATIONS

As a biomaterial, TETRANITE has unique properties which allow it to be employed as both a fixation and a fusion device. The material is capable of withstanding separation forces when used to adhere bone fragments together or to fixate metallic implants to bone when there is insufficient existing bone contact. Tuneable for set time and material adhesion, TETRANITE will revolutionize bone repair for a range of combat trauma including Cranial, Dental, Vertebral, Thoracic and Extremity indications.

TETRANITE CAN BE USED TO TREAT THE FULL RANGE OF MILITARY TRAUMA APPLICATIONS.
With 12 potential warfighter applications alone—TETRANITE is a true biotechnology platform.

CRANIAL FLAP FIXATION

The current standard of care, which uses plates and screws, typically leaves the kerf line unsealed, which may compromise the ability of the flap to integrate with the surrounding bone. The use of TETRANITE for CRANIAL FLAP FIXATION will enhance bone healing, reduce infection rates, and improve cosmetic outcomes due to the elimination of metal fixation hardware.

DENTAL IMPLANT STABILIZATION

While military personnel are well protected elsewhere due to their body armor, the face is typically left exposed making it more prone to injury. Long, drawn out dental procedures may affect mission readiness. The use of TETRANITE for DENTAL IMPLANT STABILIZATION will eliminate the multistep process currently needed for dental implants, allowing troops to return to duty faster than normal.

EXTREMITY FRACTURE REPAIR

1/3 of battlefield-related musculoskeletal injuries consist of distal radius fractures, scapula fractures, and similar compression fractures in the foot and ankle. Complication rates are as high as 36% and involve on set of carpal tunnel syndrome, complex regional pain syndrome, and have led to tendon irritation and rupture, deep infections, and need to re-operate to remove the plates. ORIF procedures are considered complex and expensive. TETRANITE for EXTREMITY FRACTURE REPAIR can be used percutaneously as a stand-alone biomaterial to treat fracture fixation, or it can be used to augment hardware used in the current standard of care.

STERNUM CLOSURE

Thorax wounds accounted for 6% of all injuries among 1,566 combatants. Tetranite for STERNUM CLOSURE acts as a scaffold, allowing bone to grow through it and ultimately replace it with new, vital bone. Injectability, low exothermal temperature, biodegradability, intrinsic mechanical strength, and lack of toxicity are a few valuable aspects of using Tetranite to replace wire cerclage and RPF. It can infiltrate cancellous bone and not separate or filter press unlike other calcium-based cements.

OPPORTUNITIES TO CONNECT WITH REVBIO

In the coming months, RevBio will be hosting multiple user handling cadaveric studies of its TETRANITE technology to repair intra-articular and extra-articular extremity fractures. Trials will be held in Boston and select locations around the country. If you are interested in participating in any of our upcoming User Handling Trials or are looking to connect with RevBio in other ways, please fill out this short form to receive more information.
